TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 17-year-old who had been missing out of Michigan for nearly two months was found safe in Miami after he stumbled across a livestream.

The Flint Township Police Department posted about Troy Coleman’s disappearance on May 21. On Thursday, the department said he had been located in Miami.

Coleman was seen walking up to streamers Clix and Lacy. A family member emailed Lacy and said that Coleman was seen on their livestream. The family member said Coleman has schizophrenia.

Lacy then shared the message on X, formerly known as Twitter, in hopes that someone could help reunite him with his family.

“We got into contact with his brother and told him what hotel he said he was staying at on stream,” FaZe Lacy shared in a Thursday post on X. “He has been found and placed in a holding cell in Miami until he gets transferred back to Michigan with his family. The power of the internet is insane thank you guys.”

“The Flint Township Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everybody who shared the missing person information about Troy Coleman,” the department wrote in a Facebook post. “He has been found safe in Miami, Florida and we are working with local authorities to arrange his safe return to Michigan to be with his family.”
