Actress, Funke Akindele has shared some important life lessons to inspire women using her life story in a recent interview on Arise TV.

The ‘Jenifa’ star was recently a guest with Ruth Osime where she discussed her life journey from her acting days on ‘I Need To Know‘ and the challenges she faced to becoming an award-winning movie producer.

She also revealed the roles celebrities like Ayo Adesanya, Fathia Williams, Sikiratu Sindodo, and Iyabo Ojo played in her life especially when she wanted to pivot into the Yoruba acting industry. Despite not getting the big role she desired, the experience catalyzed her to become a self-taught film producer.

Addressing young women, especially the ‘baddies’, Funke urged them to work diligently, have faith in themselves, and avoid seeking validation from others. She advised them to use social media positively to display their skills, businesses, and talents just like the likes of Mo Abudu, Shade Okoya, etc.

On friendships, she said: “I think my siblings are my friends. I have acquaintances that I am cordial with but not serious friendships because I am always busy working and when I’m not working, I am chilling with the kids and family or watching a movie. I have cordial relationships with people in the industry, I love working with some particular people”.
