One of the biggest reasons why almost everyone loved Sushant Singh Rajput is the fact that he never disrespected anyone in his professional life. The actor was renowned for always respecting his seniors and guiding his juniors. However, back in 2017, a Filmfare report created a stir in the film industry, as it reported that Salman Khan had scolded Sushant Singh Rajput on a phone call. Yes! You read it right. As soon as the report reached the general public, people started worrying about Sushant's acting career in Bollywood, as everyone was aware of Vivek Oberoi's chapter.

According to a Filmfare report, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story actor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Time To Dance's actor, Sooraj Pancholi met at a party back in December 2017. While interacting with each other, Sushant reportedly misbehaved with Sooraj for no reason.

The report further added that, as per the insiders, even Sooraj Pancholi was taken aback by Sushant's indecent behavior as he had done nothing to trigger him. Some news portals speculated that the reason behind Sushant's misconduct was a result of the fact that he was one film senior to Sooraj. For the uninitiated, Sushant made his acting debut in Bollywood with the film, Kai Po Che! in 2013, while Sooraj debuted in the film industry in 2015 with the film, Hero.

As soon as the matter reached to Sooraj Pancholi's 'Godfather', Salman Khan, he immediately took strict action that exploded the controversy even more. According to the report in Filmfare, Salman Khan called Sushant Singh Rajput and warned him to keep a distance from his protege, Sooraj Pancholi. Bhaijaan even scolded Sushant for his indecent behaviour, and the latter reportedly accepted his mistake and apologised to Salman for how he had behaved with Sooraj.

The controversy settled down with time, and we saw Sushant Singh Rajput and Salman Khan together at Bigg Boss, film events, and parties. However, when Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020, his massive fanbase lashed out at Salman Khan for the old incident. After receiving a lot of curses and abuse from Sushant's fans, who were heartbroken by their favourite actor's demise, Salman Khan took to his X handle and posted a response to the controversy. The Bollywood superstar requested his fans not to indulge in a war of words with Sushant's fans, instead sympathise with them. His tweet could be read as:

"A request to all my fans to stand with Sushant's fans and not to go by the language and the curses used but to go with the emotion behind it. Pls support and stand by his family and fans as the loss of a loved one is extremely painful."
