Une quarantaine de délibérations au programme du conseil municipal nîmois ce samedi 6 juillet, 8 h, à l’hôtel de ville.
The Nîmes municipal council will not lack interest in more than one way this Saturday, July 6, 8 a.m., at the town hall with around forty deliberations including this which will validate the choice of the Edeis company for the management of Roman monuments.

As Midi Libre announced on Tuesday July 2, the City has chosen Edeis, delegatee since 2021, for the public service delegation of the arenas, the Maison Carrée, the Tour Magne and, new, the Maison Saurel at the Jardins de la Fontaine which could become a sort of cultural café. The new contract, formalized this Saturday during the council meeting, will begin on November 1, 2024 for a period of eight years. Among the objectives set, there is this average attendance for all these sites of more than 791,000 visitors each year for an average turnover of 6.4 million euros. In particular, there will be a fixed fee of 280,000 excluding tax.
Congress Centre: rising construction costs
During the municipal council, the elected officials will vote on the additional budget which is balanced in the investment section to the tune of 47,636,058, 36 € and in operating section up to 17 198 944 €. The City will discuss several changes to the Family Pass and the pricing policy for services, and will adopt new price scales from January 1, 2025 which concern the permanent and temporary commercial occupation of public property.
We should expect more debate during the deliberation concerning the revaluation of the program authorization for the Palais des Congrès since its amount will increase from 56 to 315 ;556 € to 59 645 796 €, an increase of almost 6 %. Construction costs are weighing on this project with soaring prices of raw materials (steel, concrete, energy crisis).
