NDLEA makes biggest cocaine seizure in Benue history

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Benue State has announced the biggest seizure of a substance suspected to be cocaine in the history of the command in the state.

The NDLEA Assistant State Commander, Media/Advocacy, Phillemon Saror, in a statement, stated that the suspected cocaine was concealed in an MP3 speaker and weighed 350 grams.

It was seized from a 25-year-old male.

Saror also stated that the arrest was made on Thursday at about 10 am by the Otukpo Area Command during an ambush in a well coordinated follow up operation.

“There was an interception of a waybill at NDLEA checkpoint along Enugu road, Otukpo; a diligent stop and search operation was carried out resulting in the highest seizure of cocaine in the history of Benue State Command weighing 350 grams in an MP3 speaker.

“The suspect is a male aged 25 years. The suspect is in custody under investigation awaiting prosecution in court.

“Arrest was made on Thursday, July 4, 2024,” he stated.
