Paddy McGuinness has shared a touching tribute to his twins on their 11th birthday, revealing he was 'terrified' when they were born. The Top Gear presenter, who recently celebrated his own 50th birthday, and his ex-partner Christine McGuinness, 36, both took to social media to share their joy for twins Penelope and Leo's special day.
The much-loved comedian and former Real Housewives of Cheshire star, who share three children including their youngest daughter Felicity, have continued living together despite ending their 11-year marriage in 2022. This decision followed the intimate insights shared in their documentary Our Family and Autism, highlighting their family's journey with autism as all three children, like Christine who was diagnosed at 33, are on the spectrum.
On Tuesday, Paddy melted hearts with an Instagram post featuring a throwback photo of him holding his twins as newborns, captioned: "Happy 11th birthday Leo and Penelope! This picture was taken the day we brought them home from hospital."
He added: "I was terrified but my life has been the better for it ever since. The same can't be said for my hair! Love you my beautiful babies! ! ! ! #birthday".
Christine McGuinness, reports the Manchester Evening News, shared a touching message on Instagram to celebrate her twins' birthday, giving her 740,000 followers a glimpse into their special day. The doting mum wrote: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful, earth angel, superstar Twins Leo and Penelope 11 years old words can't describe my love for you, how proud I am, how happy you make me, my babies forever you inspire mummy, motivate me and made me who I am.
"Forever blessed and grateful to be your mama Obviously I don't show my children publicly but I can tell you all they are thriving, they're so tall! With big brown eyes, the most perfect smiles, they are funny, smart and creative, and full of love."
Adding to the celebration, she mentioned: "It's also my mums birthday! ! ! and I honestly don't know what I would do without my mum, I am so grateful for you, your bond and understanding with my children is so special. We love and appreciate you always."
