Ebonyi: Key Into My Development Agenda, Nwifuru Urges New Corps Members

ABAKALIKI – Ebpnyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has urged new Corps Members posted to the State to key into his development agenda anchored on People’s Charter of Needs, so as to leave their foot prints in the sands of time in the State.

This was even as the Governor assured the Corps Members of his administration’s resolve to ensure adequate security and welfare needs and an enabling environment to serve in the State.

Nwifuru, represented by the state Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Hon Richard Idike, spoke at the swearing in of the Batch B stream 1 Corps Members at NYSC orientation Camp, Old MacGregor College, Afikpo on Tuesday.

He further urged the Corps Members to show commitment as the State rewards excellence.

The Governor noted that the orientation programme had been designed to adequately prepare them for the service year and future challenges.

In her address, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, urged the Corps Members to take the camp activities seriously and commended them for their orderly conduct since they arrived the camp.

She charged the Corps Members to ensure they learn one skill through the SAED programme before the end of their one year compulsory service.

She thanked the State government and other relevant Stakeholders for their numerous supports to the scheme.

A total of 1300 Corps Members, comprising 587 males and 713 females, were sworn-in for the 21 days orientation programme. END//
