Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital will host the South-west zone of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) conference. 

The conference tagged ‘Abeokuta SWAC 2024 is scheduled to hold between July 3 and 6, 2024.

According to a release by the conference media director, Biodun Alabi, the Executive Governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, will serve as the Chief Host. 

Keynote speaker at the event is Prof. Tunde Makanju, just as former Green Eagles captain, Segun Odegbami, is a special guest. 

The event which is arguably the biggest athletics conference in the region, will also attract different stakeholders and lead speakers including Bukola Olopade, the Founder of Nilayo Sports Management and Tunde Popoola, the Secretary-General of Nigeria Olympic Committee, among others. 

The Conference Chairman is Senator Olamilekan Adeola, the Senator Representing Yewa Senatorial District of Ogun state.
