West Ham United have a busy summer ahead of them as they look to revamp their squad under their new manager.

David Moyes will be leaving the London Stadium and Julen Lopetegui is widely expected to be taking the Hammers reins in Moyes’ place.

Although West Ham have some good foundations in place player-wise, there’s certainly scope to bring in some reinforcements.

West Ham already have two of the Premier League’s most accurate players – James Ward-Prowse and Jarrod Bowen – in their ranks.

And according to a new report doing the rounds, the Hammers are now looking at another player in that category.

As well as the Hammers, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be in pursuit of the 24-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Who is West Ham target Alfie Doughty?

Doughty has been one of Luton’s standout players in the Premier League this season, doing his utmost to keep them afloat in the top flight.

The Londoner has registered two goals and eight assists this term, and is also the league’s most prolific crosser by a distance.

As per the Premier League website, Doughty has registered 327 crosses in league this term. Second-placed Pascal Gross is far behind on 232 crosses.

In March, Adrian Clarke described the player as ‘one of the best crossers in the Premier League’ and described his left foot as ‘outstanding’.

Although the Hatters are all-but relegated due to their goal difference being much worse than that of Nottingham Forest, Doughty is likely to stay in the top flight.

As per GiveMeSport, his contract expires at the end of the season. Luton are said to have held off offering him new terms until they know what league they’ll definitely be in.

West Ham could potentially get themselves a real bargain in Doughty, who could provide competition for Emerson Palmieri,

He would certainly make the Hammers team even more dangerous from set pieces and down the flanks.
