Authorizes in Craig are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out Thursday night on the Subway property at 1420 W. Victory Way.

The fire was reported at 10:02 p.m. Thursday, according to officials with Craig Fire Rescue, who added there were no injuries associated with the blaze that flared up in some landscaping and brush between the Subway and Dark Horse Liquor buildings.

Neither building sustained any damage in the fire, according to Craig Fire Rescue.

Authorities put out a reverse 911 call due to a gas leak in the area. Craig Fire Rescue said Atmos performed a temporary repair to stop the leak, and the alert was lifted about an hour after it was issued.

Aside from the call about the fire between the Subway and Dark Horse Liquor buildings, the Fourth of July was a pretty quite night for Craig Fire Rescue, which only fielded one other fire call Thursday night for a dumpster that caught fire at Loudy-Simpson Park.

The dumpster fire was quickly contained and its cause is also still under investigation.
