NSF: FG Expresses Satisfaction on level of Preparation

Federal Government has expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation put in place by Ogun State ahead of the National Sports Festival especially in areas of infrastructural development, security and accommodation.

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Sports Development, Mrs. Tinuke Watti, stated this while speaking with journalists after inspecting proposed facilities and venues for the festival tagged “Gateway Games” 

Mrs Patti who is also the Chairman, Main organizing Committee, MOC,  submitted that with the level of preparation and assurances made, the State had demonstrated it’s readiness to host the nation early next year.

She appreciated the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for making frantic efforts towards making the hosting a success, saying the Governor had showed great commitment with the level of infrastructural development witnessed around the stadia.

Also, The Chairman Local Organising Committee, LOC,, Mr. Bukola Olopade noted that the NSF would make the State the first to give athletes an amazing digitalized hostel facility, as well as a digitalized feeding system which would help in the quest for accountability and data collection for both the Federal and State governments in the final analysis.

In a remark,  the Commissioner for Sports Development, Mr Wasiu Isiaka reaffirmed  the readiness of the state to host the over 12 thousand athletes coming for the games.

Mr Isiaka pointed out that the choice of Babcock University for the accommodation center of over 12, 000 athletes was part of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s resolve to provide a befitting hostel accommodation, describing athletes welfare as paramount to the State Government.

The areas inspected included, MKO International Stadium Kuto Abeokuta, Sagamu Stadium, Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne, Abeokuta Sports Club and Babcock University, Ilisan.
