Pundit Glen Johnson has revealed if Chelsea needs to sign winger Nico Williams this summer transfer window.

CHELSEA have already been busy this transfer window and have added Toby Adarabioy and Estevao Willian to the side – although the Brazilian will not be coming to Stamford Bridge until 2025 because he is only 17-years of age.

But the board are expected to keep on spending over the next few months – and have been linked with a move for the impressive Nico Williams – who is now regarded as one of the most  exciting young attackers in the game and a player that has been tipped for a big move.

But despite all the transfer reports that Chelsea are very keen to get a deal done for the star – Glen Johnson believes that Chelsea does not need to sign Nico Williams this summer. Speaking to Betfred, he said: “From what I’ve seen, he’s probably better than a few they’ve already got.

“As I’ve said before, Chelsea have so many youngsters and I believe they need more experience in the team. They need match winners and experienced players rather than an entire squad of young gems.

“I don’t believe they need another young winger right now. Chelsea need players that have been around the Premier League for many years, that have won trophies and know how to win.

“I think they’re already maxed out with youngsters if I’m being completely honest…”
