Five Naxalites Arrested in Sukma, Explosive Materials Recovered

Raipur: Police have apprehended five Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, recovering explosive materials including two barrel grenade launcher shells and a tiffin bomb. These Naxalites were captured from the Jagargunda police station area.

A police official stated that a joint team consisting of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Bastar Fighters, and the District Battalion was conducting a domination operation when they successfully captured these Naxalites.

According to media reports, the official mentioned that some Naxalites, dressed in civilian clothes, attempted to hide and flee upon learning about the security personnel's presence near the Singavaram turn close to Jagargunda but were unsuccessful.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Hemla Pala (35), Hemla Hunga (35), Sodi Deva (25), Nuppo (20), and Kunjam Masa (28). All are residents of the Chintalnar police station area and were active as militia members in Surpanguda.

The official reported that the seized items included two country-made barrel grenade launcher (BGL) shells, a tiffin bomb, seven gelatin sticks, nine detonators, explosive powder, and other materials used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
