Association urges Air Peace, Ibom Air to consider cargo business
Mr Ikpe Nkanang, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of DACAA, made the appeal at the inauguration of the association’s BoT and Patrons on Friday in Lagos.
According to him, cargo business is a good business and can help close the profit making gap in the industry.
He said: “Air Peace has the largest number of fleets and Ibom Air is also large on fleets and so we believe that if those two airlines open their cargo rooms, then we will be able to pass a lot of cargo through them.
“The airlines are wasting funds. There are times that the passengers are low and the cargo rooms are empty.
“It is better we fill it up with cargo that will generate revenue for them and also generate employment for those who are working in that industry.
“We made that plea because those are the only airlines who are not carrying unaccompanied cargo, all the other airlines are carrying as best as they can.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that aviation agencies and stakeholders were present at the inauguration. (NAN)
