Zamfara police command hands over N26.7m cheques to officers, families

The Zamfara state Police Command has presented  cheques of over N26.7 million to the next of kins of deceased police and serving police officers ,who sustained injuries in the line of duty.

Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Salisu Bello Fago, presented the cheques on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, Wednesday. 

The command’s public relations officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, made this known in a statement made available to Blueprint in Gusau, Wednesday.

According to him, the beneficiaries included five next of kin of deceased police officers who paid the ultimate price while serving their fatherland, and three police officers who sustained injuries while performing their constitutional obligations.

“The cheques are part of the Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes of the Force,” the statement said. 

The DCP commended the Inspector General of Police for his kind gesture and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money by taking care of their families.
