Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal need to strengthen their attack, particularly on the left flank, if they are to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

“So Arsenal are saying we need cover for this one and that one. You need to go and buy a left-back. Left-back is not good enough. And I think left-wing is not quite good enough,” Carragher stated, pointing to areas of concern within the Gunners’ squad.

“I like Martinelli and Trossard. People keep saying Arsenal need a striker, but there’s not many strikers in the world, everybody in the premier League beside Man City are not happy with their striker really,” the former Liverpool defender added, suggesting that a top-class striker might not be the answer.

Carragher believes the Gunners need to bolster their attacking options, particularly on the left wing. “So it might not be a striker, for me when I look at Arsenal they are missing a top attacker to go with Saka, who I think is fantastic,” he said. “They need another one, whether that’s through the middle or off the left.”

Carragher’s analysis suggests that Arsenal need to invest in a creative attacker who can complement Bukayo Saka and provide a consistent threat in the final third. While their recent campaign showed promise, securing a top-class left winger could be the key to bridging the gap with Manchester City.
