Live: A30 delays after caravan crash near Whiddon Down

It's happened on the westbound dual carriageway

A lane on the busy A30 has closed following a caravan crash. The incident happened shortly before 3pm on the A30 westbound near Whiddon Down, half way between Exeter and Okehampton.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix confirmed that one lane is shut on the dual carriageway as a result of the collision near the junction with the A382. It said: "There is slow traffic and one lane is closed due to an accident involving a car towing a caravan on the A30 Westbound at A382."

More delays on A30 in Cornwall

Anyone travelling along the A30 into Cornwall is being warned of long delays near Summercourt on the approach to Carland Cross at Truro.

Inryx, the traffic monitoring website, has warned: "The A30 in both directions closed. There are long delays due to weekend roadworks until the early hours of Monday morning from the A3058 at Summercourt to the A390 at Three Burrows.

"Congestion to School Road heading into Summercourt. Routes through Goonhaven and Rosecliston as well as Quintrell Downs and Truro are all heavily delayed as drivers look to avoid closure."
