Katie Maloney provided insights into her strained relationship with Lala Kent during a recent podcast appearance, following the dramatic season 11 reunion of Vanderpump Rules. This season has exposed deeper rifts among the cast.
Katie Feels Betrayed by Lala
During the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast on July 2, Katie confirmed she hasn’t spoken to Lala since the reunion.
I didn’t see that coming.
The fallout centers around comments made off-camera about Ariana Madix, Katie’s friend and business partner. Katie felt blindsided by Lala’s actions, describing them as lacking authenticity.
An Unexpected Confrontation
Katie revealed that their differences had been resolved six months before the season began. She recalled a key moment in San Francisco that wasn’t fully shown: There was plenty of resolve. Sometimes it just takes a little time to get fully back on track with someone.
Katie recounted other shocking moments from the reunion when Lala aired grievances without prior warning. She commented: She was saving them for the reunion, which I didn’t feel was super authentic.
A Matter of Trust
Trust is paramount for Katie. Violations are hard to forgive: I’m allowed to have some kind of privacy and talk about emotions with people. She expressed dismay at private conversations being publicly disclosed during the reunion. According to Katie, airing such issues should be handled with respect considering they were discussed privately.
Lala’s Attempts to Expose Katie
Katie outlined three specific instances where she felt Lala tried to discredit her. This included revelations of private dialogues, the falling out from over a year ago when Katie called her a “clown,” and sharing phone conversations with their producer, Jeremiah.
Although understanding Lala’s frustration over public reactions post-breakup with Randall Emmett, Katie compared this to Ariana’s response post-Scandoval: And I’ve talked to her about this…we’re just like, ‘Damn, this is all nuts.’
