‘Silicon Valley-based graphics chipmaker Nvidia has reported that April quarterly revenue jumped 24 per cent year over year, while income nearly tripled.’

’The company posted revenues of $583.8m for the quarter, it’s fiscal Q1 2006, compared to $471.9m posted in fiscal Q1 2005. Net income was $64.4m compared to net income of $21.3m in the year ago period’

‘Nvidia also beat its numbers on a sequential basis. In the prior quarter, the company posted revenue of $566.6m and net income of $48m.’

“We have solidly returned our company to growth,” said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO. “We now have four exciting growth businesses — GPU, MCP (media and communications processor), wireless media processor, and consumer electronics.”’
