Lyon Break Bank To Sign Niakhate From Forest
Moussa Niakhate, a Senegalese international, has moved permanently from Nottingham Forest to Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais, the French club confirmed on Thursday.
The 28-year-old defender, who joined Forest from Mainz in 2022, has played 35 Premier League games over the last two seasons.
Olympique Lyonnais confirmed in a statement that they would pay Nottingham Forest €31.9 million, the club’s largest transfer fee ever.
The move comes after former Forest midfielder Orel Mangala signed a permanent transfer to Lyon for roughly €17.7 million on Tuesday.
Niakhate will remain at the club until June 30, 2028.
