NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - Police in one Eastern Carolina city are looking for a man on a bicycle after the violent robbery of a woman.

New Bern police say they have warrants out for David Singleton charging him with felony common law robbery.

The robbery happened around 5:40 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of M.L. King Jr. Boulevard.

The 61-year-old victim told officers that the man on the bike approached her and asked to use her phone. When she refused, the man grabbed her phone and then violently stole her purse, police said.

The woman fell to the ground during the robbery, according to a news release.
