The “Power Sisters.” Dawn Morris and Dana Glendinning, 2024 nominees.

Each year Lake Wildwood honors a citizen of Lake Wildwood for his or her outstanding volunteer contributions to our community. The CRC sponsors the award and reaches out to all our committees, clubs, and the community in general, to request nominations of residents who deserve to be honored for their valuable contributions to our community. From that group of nominees, CRC has the difficult task of selecting one person or a couple who will be our Citizen of the Year.

Our first nominees for Citizen of the Year are collectively known as the Power Sisters. Dawn Morris and Dana Glendinning are nominated together because they are blood sisters and always show up together for all our volunteer activities. They are supportive members of the Social Committee, Parks and Recreation Committee, Garden Club, Pickleball Club, and Citizens Who Care. Outside of LWA, they volunteer at the North Star House, Roots and Wings, Western Gateway Dog Park, and the AARP Tax program. At virtually every LWA event from Vitalant Blood Drives, to decorating the Clubhouse for the Holidays, ushering at the Cedar Room, and assisting at the Men’s Golf Tournament our Power Sisters are there to ensure these activities are supported and run smoothly. Their smiling faces and upbeat attitudes make them the most welcome participants at any event. They are truly deserving of our recognition and nomination for Citizen of the Year.
