Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo has donated over hundred thousand (100,000) trees to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Igbariam, to foster eco-friendly environment in the school premises.

The University’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha, announced the donation to journalists during a press conference held at the university’s auditorium ahead of the Institution’s upcoming Climate Change Summit and Tree Planting Awareness Campaign.

Prof Omenugha explained that the gift, which was the first of its type since the University’s founding, was part of the governor’s aim to make Anambra a clean, green, habitable, and successful state in Nigeria.

She stated that Cardinal Francis Arinze will officially reveal the tree planting in the University’s Administrative Building.
