There was a fire scare on Monday at the Kwara State Secretariat following a spark from a generator around 10am which caused a pandemonium.

City & Crime gathered that the fire from the spark from the Jubilee generator damaged some cables before it was put out.

Some workers described it as a minor incident that discomforted many of them.

A staff member said, “It was the shouts from people that made me come out to check what was happening. There was chaos on the premises. It was a generator spark which affected one of the cables that supplied electricity to some offices in the Ministry of Works. But we thank God that it was nothing serious.”

An official of the Ministry of Works told our correspondent that it was the Ministry of Communication that was officially supposed to speak on the incident.

Calls to the Commissioner for Communication, Mrs Bola Olojoku, were not answered.
