Terrence Howard went viral after he made controversial claims about math (1×1=2) and science on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Rogan was ridiculed for entertaining the actor’s wild theories in a 3-hour episode of his show last month.

This week, Rogan pushed back by inviting a Harvard-educated mathematician to challenge Howard’s theories on his show.

In a 4-hour video posted on YouTube on Monday, Rogan introduced Howard to his friend Eric Weinstein, who holds a Ph.D. in mathematical physics from Harvard University.

Weinstein and Howard debated the meaning of the word “supersymmetry.”

Other scholars have noted that Howard uses big words incorrectly.

Weinstein told Howard, “Terrence, you have an entire way of thinking that is completely foreign to everyone that I know.”

Howard claims he holds 97 patents. In reality, he filed 97 patents but he allowed the applications to expire.

Famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson responded to a 36-page essay on math and physics that Howard sent him.

During a recent episode of his StarTalk podcast last month, Tyson explained that he read through Howard’s essay and he wrote notes on every page debunking everything Howard wrote.

“I thought, out of respect for him, what I should do is give him my most informed critical analysis that I can,” Tyson said. “In my field, we call that a peer review.”

Tyson added that the purpose of a peer review is “to alert you of things about your ideas that are either misguided or wrong.”
