Thousands of people are anticipated to attend the vibrant Dorset Mela Festival, a celebration of south Asian culture in its seventh annual installment at Poole Park. Experience a day filled with live music, electrifying dance performances, top-notch DJs, and a dazzling fashion show. The festival will also feature an array of stalls offering henna painting, exquisitely crafted clothing and jewellery, artistic displays, and a delightful variety of traditional and modern culinary delights. Organiser Manoj Pillai expressed, "It's a platform for cultural exchange, welcoming everyone to join in the festivities and connect with diverse cultures." From classical dances like Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Bhangra to fusion acts blending south Asian tunes with contemporary beats, the entertainment promises to be a spectacle for all. The event is expected to draw around 5,000 visitors throughout the day, starting at 10:00 BST and lasting until the early evening.
