IAWPA Appoints Wistananant As Eminent Peace Ambassador, Thailand’s Country Director

The International Association Of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), a global peace advocacy group with Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) has appointed Dr. Parameewath Wistananant as an Eminent Peace Ambassador under the association.

The association, in a press statement made available to journalists by the International Spokesman of IAWPA, Amb. Dr Emmanuel Nkweke, also announced that Dr. Wistananant will be assuming office as the Country Director of the association in the Asia Pacific nation of Thailand.

The statement described Dr. Wistananant as a committed peace advocate who has shown strong interest in achieving the ideals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in his home country.

The statement said with the appointment, IAWPA will be making a bold statement in Thailand, thereby expanding its frontiers.

It described Thailand as a very important country for IAWPA, adding that the appointment of Amb. Dr Wistananant was a very commendable one.

Amb. Nkweke also said the appointment of Amb Dr Wistananant will be communicated to the United Nations Office in Thailand as well as other bodies which IAWPA is partnering in the country.

The appointment of Amb. Dr. Parameewath Wistananant was performed by the Nigerian Director of IAWPA, Amb. John Aderibigbe, at Bangkok, Thailand, where he also received an Honorary Doctorate degree from Thai University.

The honorary degree was conferred in recognition of Amb. Aderibigbe’s outstanding contributions to agriculture and international development. It was presented during a special ceremony at the university’s campus.

Amb. Aderibigbe serves as the chairman/CEO of the National Agricultural Commodities Projects (NACP) and is also the Country Director of IAWPA in Nigeria.
