The Progressive School Feeding Caterers Association of Ghana (POSCAG) has accused the Free School Feeding Secretariat of illegally deducting money from their feeding grants.

The group has warned that they will go on strike if the issue is not resolved promptly.

According to POSCAG, despite the Coordinator for the School Feeding Programme, Hajia Safia, announcing a feeding grant of GHs1.50 per pupil, the secretariat only released GHs1.20 per pupil during payments.

The association demands a resolution to this issue, as well as the settlement of outstanding payments, underpayment, and refusal to pay for work done during the second term of the previous academic year.

In a press release signed by POSCAG’s president, Gifty Amoah, on Friday, July 5, 2024, the association emphasized that they will not hesitate to take industrial action if their concerns are not addressed immediately.
