Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Wednesday inaugurated three commissioners of the State Civil Service Commission who were recently confirmed by the House of Assembly, urging them to be fair, just and transparent in their conducts.

Aiyedatiwa, while performing the inauguration in Akure, expressed delight in the appointment of those he described as well-qualified bureaucrats.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inaugurated commissioners are: Mr Mathew Imoru, Mr Sunday Agbotoba and Iyabo Akpoebi.
The governor said that his administration had taken various measures to enhance the welfare of workers.
These, he said, included: regular promotions, prompt salary payments, recruitment into critical sectors and provision of official vehicles to permanent secretaries.
According to him, the selection of the new commissioners aligns with Section 197 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
He praised the commission for its role in promoting high moral values, efficiency and responsiveness within the civil service.
“The appointment of these distinguished and well-qualified bureaucrats is in accordance with Section 197 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
“A perusal of the profile of these personalities shows that the interest of the civil service structure of the state is in our hearts and, as such, I have deliberately approved the nomination of retired bureaucrats.
“They all have civil service backgrounds and have been selected based on their excellent antecedents.
“Our administration knows the critical relevance of the state civil service in the delivery of its mandate to the good people of the Sunshine State.
“We know, for sure, that no government can rise higher than the altitude of its bureaucracy,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa urged the new commissioners to prioritise the interest of the state and maintain fairness, justice, equity and transparency in their duties.
The governor also thanked the assembly for its prompt screening and confirmation of the nominees, underscoring the cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government.
NAN reports that the newly-filled positions became available, following the expiration of the tenures of three commissioners on June 13.
Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the former commissioners, Chief Joel Magi, Mr Isaac Itiola and Hon. Rotimi Okeowo, for their dedication to the service of the state.
One of the new commissioners, Mr Mathew Imoru, who spoke on behalf of others, appreciated the governor for counting them worthy to serve the state in that capacity. (NAN
