Laide Bakare, a Nigerian actress, has accused the police of brutalizing her and traumatizing his daughter.

On Friday, Bakare released a video with her kid, alleging mistreatment by a Nigeria Police Force officer.

She stated that she was driving along the Ikorodu-Mile 12 axis on June 21 when she was stopped by a police officer.

The actress stated that she was pulled over for allegedly driving in the BRT lane.

She stated that a police officer then got into her car and drove away with her 14-year-old daughter, phone, and other belongings.

Bakare reported that her daughter was afraid and had to pay ₦70,000 to regain her vehicle.

The Lagos police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that Bakare was stopped for driving in the BRT lane.

He claimed the actress caused a commotion by refusing to remain in her vehicle when it was being driven to the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) headquarters.

Hundeyin stated that the ₦70,000 fine she paid went to “government coffers”.

“You were stopped for contravening traffic laws by driving on the BRT lane. You chose to create a scene,” he said.

“You chose to remain out of your vehicle when it was being taken to the LAMATA office. The officers were not going to succumb to your gimmick to hold them down at that spot.

“You rightly paid the correct fine for your offence – N70,000 – into government coffers. You left with the receipt and your vehicle. Not a finger was laid on you.”

Bakare spoke out against Hundeyin’s views during a Sunday interview on Classic FM.

He said that he did not attentively view the films and referred to him as a “disappointment to Nigerians”.

She also mentioned additional incidents of police misbehavior, including a severely pregnant woman who was allegedly extorted by police in the same region.
