Israel Lagbokun Olawale known as Bims in the music world began 2024 on a high note. In February he ruffled the music scene with a single “Make Una Dance” in collaboration with one of his music idols, Sir Shina Peters. Currently, he is trending on various streaming platforms with his latest single titled “Amapiano”.

Bims, who is signed to 3ple Threat Entertainment has carved a niche for himself with his unique sound, which blends traditional Afrobeat with contemporary influences. He offers listeners a deeply emotional and immersive experience and he didn’t disappoint with “Amapiano” just as his previous releases.

Speaking on Amapiano, he explains the process that birthed the song, admitting that it was an accident of fate.

“Interestingly, I can’t pinpoint the exact moment of inspiration for this track. I was just in my room, working on another song, and as I produced the beat to a good level, I decided to freestyle.

Initially, I wasn’t sure if people would connect with the idea, so I invited a few friends to listen. The extraordinary reaction made me realize that the song was something special,” he says.

“Amapiano” is an upbeat yet emotional song where I describe Amapiano as a happy place, a sanctuary where we can all find peace of mind. This track is incredibly special to me, and I believe it will resonate deeply with listeners. So, as usual, expect nothing less than beautiful music at its peak,” he says of the single,” he adds

Bims’ discography reflects his musical dexterity steeped in versatility. His last release in February 2024 – “Make Una Dance,” which features the legendary Shina Peters is particularly significant for Bims, as Sir Shina Peters has been a major influence on his sound. The song combines traditional Afrobeat rhythms with modern beats, creating a dance track that is both nostalgic and contemporary.

In 2022 he released “Odd Son,” an underground hit among his core fanbase which showcases Bims’ ability to blend different musical elements while singing about the struggles faced by a young Nigerian. This song, along with his previous EP “Beyond Your Eyes,” which was released in 2021 highlights his range and ability to convey deep emotions through his music
