You can’t win Edo September 2024 governorship poll with twisted court judgement, PDP stalwart tells APC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state, Nosa Osasuyi, has carpeted the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for hiding its incompetence and inability to win the forthcoming election behind the court judgement.

Osasuyi told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that the APC has resorted to lies because the party can’t win the forthcoming September in a free and fair contest.

According to him, “the facts stare them frontally hence their hiding behind a finger twisting the judgement of the Federal High Court.”

He said the misrepresentation of disqualification of the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, was a cheap blackmail to curry votes from unsuspecting voters in the state.

The PDP chieftain advised the opposition party to accept defeat even before the election as their candidate has no capacity to govern the state.

He, therefore, advised them to concentrate on real campaign instead of twisting the court judgement upside down.

The party chieftain said “Edo voters are more knowledgeable than the APC is thinking and their defeat is so pronounced even before the election.”

He said the plaintiff’s lawyer in the case, Adaze Emwanta, ought to be dragged to the disciplinary committee of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) for deliberately misleading Nigerians.

“I ask that Emwanta be disciplined for falsehood,” he said.

It will be recalled that the Federal High Court had ruled that the exclusion of some wards’ delegates from the election ran afoul of the party’s constitution, which has nothing to do with the flag bearer of the PDP in Edo state.
