Throughout the month of July, the Bowling Green Municipal Government is honoring local park systems in celebration of National Park and Recreation Month. Since 1985, Americans have been recognizing the efforts of those who contribute to building safe and active communities through the National Recreation and Park Association. The dedicated work of recreational professionals and the maintenance of local parks will be highlighted during this special month. Dedication to Community Parks and recreation play a crucial role in creating enjoyable and inclusive spaces within a city. From staff members to part-time employees, volunteers, and seasonal workers, everyone involved in maintaining these park systems will be celebrated. The Bowling Green Municipal Government took to Facebook to express their gratitude, stating, "It's time to show our appreciation for our parks and recreational professionals who work tirelessly every day, year-round, to ensure our park system is a fantastic place for everyone to enjoy." Recognizing Contributions The appreciation for these contributions was evident on July 1, as the staff members of the Russell Sims Aquatic Center were recognized on the municipal government's Facebook page. A post expressed thanks to the team for their hard work in creating a refreshing and fun oasis for individuals of all ages to enjoy throughout the summer.
