Attempts by Ruto operatives to brand Gen-Z Protests Mt. Kenya Affair Backfire

An endeavor by Ruto’s loyalists in the Nyanza region to manipulate the peacefull protests against the high cost of living into an ethnic matter has been met with resounding failure.

The attempt by Ruto’s allies in Nyanza to manipulate the peaceful protest into a tribal issue has backfired.

This was evident after Ps Raymond Omollo and Moses Kuria met with some local MCAs to push a false narrative.

Their efforts to sway student leaders and bloggers also failed.

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo

The divide and rule objective of the narrative is to promote the idea that the Gen Z’s agenda is primarily a Kikuyu agenda led by Gachagua and Uhuru, with the intention of discouraging participation from other tribes in the peaceful protest.

Its focus is to paint Ruto and a western kenya friendly president in contrast to Gachagua

According to sources, among the 20 annonymous UDA bloggers hired by the team, each individual was promised a daily payment of 2000kshs.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Additionally, the elected MCAs were offered a daily payment of 10,000kshs, if they could successfully persuade the voters to abandon the planned Tuesday protest.

The demonstration in Kisumu has been highly successful thus far, with several groups from Kisumu Central gathering in the CBD, while other large masses are making their way to state house.

The UDA bloggers faced severe condemnation in multiple WhatsApp groups for their endeavors to subvert justice.

Furthermore, they were advised that if the protests were a means of resolving conflicts between Gachagua and the President, and would result in significant reduced cost of living and would tame the President and his allies extravagant spending and runaway corruption , so be it.

Luos fully support and approve of the protests.

Therefore, their decision to provide complete assistance will stay unswerving.

Kisumu’s younger generation, like their counterparts across the country, have demonstrated their value and determination by actively participating in nationwide activism. They hope that this collective effort will lead to a transformation in the president’s approach to government policys and governance.

The protests initially emerged as online expressions of outrage against the planned financial law, which included tax increases amounting to nearly $3 billion.

However, they have now evolved into a widespread movement across the entire country, targeting corruption and ineffective governance.

Ruto, who is currently experiencing the most severe crisis of his administration that has lasted for almost two years, is trapped in a dilemma between the expectations of lenders like the International Monetary Fund to reduce deficits, and a struggling population that is greatly affected by the rapidly increasing cost of living.
