A political pressure group under the aegis of Diri Angels (DA), has urged the former Vice-President and the Presidential Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the 2023 elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to consider the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri as his Vice-Presidential Candidate in 2027.

DA, in a statement signed by its Secretary, John Ondowari on Tuesday, expressed optimism that Atiku would still emerge the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027, hence Diri would benthe most suitable choice.

Ondowari, hinted that Atiku can only realised his ambition of unseating President Bola Tinubu and become the President of the country, if he adopts Governor Diri as his running mate in 2027.

Ondowari said, “Diri is our leader and we know he has the capacity to work as Atiku’s running mate to rescue this country from the current hardship in 2027.”

Highlighting some reasons why Diri should be considered by Atiku, Ondowari noted, “Diri is a people oriented leader who has excellent leadership and visionary skills. Nigeria will immensely benefit from Diri as our vice-president

“Diri’s grassroots support will help galvanize the PDP better in a general election. Diri is scandal-free and his being on that ticket will be a plus.

“Diri is a major financier of the PDP and it is only natural the party rewards his great efforts

“Being an oil rich state, Bayelsa becomes strategic for such a position in terms of catering for the logistics of the elections.

“Diri is endlessly loyal to Atiku Abubakar and both will form a seamless relationship to unseat the APC government in 2027.”
