Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh on Sunday met Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh's family. He alleged that in India, if someone has a different opinion, he is put in jail under the National Security Act (NSA) and that the slogan 'Hindu Rashtra Zindabad' was raised in Parliament and people were felicitated. He further questioned as to what is wrong when a Sikh youth talks about 'Sikh Rashtra'?

Amritpal Singh, who styled himself after slain Khalistani militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, was arrested in Moga's Rode village on April 23 last year following an over a month-long manhunt.

He and his associates were booked in several criminal cases related to spreading disharmony among classes, attempt to murder, attack on police personnel and creating obstructions in the lawful discharge of duty by public servants.
