Wike has passed his prime, by Nnokam Amadi

insightlinks.net 2024/7/25

The former Governor of Rivers State and Leader of the opposition Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has been seeking for an opportunity to show who is in charge in Rivers State.

Two election opportunities have presented themselves, yet, he’s refusing to take them.

Wike has the opportunity to show capacity in the forthcoming Local Government elections, surprisingly, he’s declined to participate.

He also has another opportunity in the forthcoming House of Assembly Bye elections in 1 constituency whose seat became vacant given the demise of its former occupant

Another 25 constituencies whose seats became vacant by reason of their defection and the automatic application of section 109 of the 1999 CFRN as amended

And the constituency of the Rt Hon Edison Ehie, the immediate past speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly whose seat became vacant after his resignation.

We are amused that rather than utilise these opportunities as he has claimed to desire to show capacity, the leader of the opposition in Rivers State is going from one court to another shopping for injunctions restraining the INEC from conducting elections to fill these seats.

What is Wike afraid of?

In Ikwerre land, we do not argue about who a better wrestler is when there’s abundance of land to practically show working.

We challenge Wike and his people to utilise these opportunities to practically show that his words are not cheap and of no effect

Leave the Courts alone and enter the ring so that we teach you lessons in current advanced political arithmetics.

He obviously knows that he’ll be beaten in all 23 LGAs and 27 state Constituencies in the next LGA elections and constituency by-elections, hence his intense fears.

Truly, “he knows that we know what he knows, but he doesn’t know what we know” – Rt Hon Edison Ehie

2027 elections far, Oga abeg enter ring let Gov Sim clear the remaining doubts
