MOSSEL BAY NEWS - There were generous donations for the needy at last night's Polar Plunge at the tidal pool at The Point, Mossel Bay.

The Mossel Bay 32 branch of Round Table event took place in exceptionally cold weather at 20:00.

This annual local plunge forms part of the national Round Table Winter Knights winter charity movement.

Icy

During this event, Round Tablers and members of the public jump into the icy tidal pool.

Round Table Mossel Bay 32 invited the public to join the initiative and to donate blankets, warm clothing and non-perishable foods.

Blankets, clothing, non-perishables

"Mossel Bay did not disappoint and we were more than happy to drive in convoy back to the clubhouse with a bakkie-load of blankets, clothing and non-perishable food," the Round Table branch's Facebook page noted.

These will be distributed to those in need.

Generous support

The Round Tablers are grateful for all the generous support.

"Thank you to the National Sea Rescue Institute for the donation of key chains and lip balm as well as to the resident who offered to serve a cup of soup (hot from a pot, not "cuppa soup") to those took the plunge." - Source: Mossel Bay Round Table Facebook page (with permission)
