Anambra State Deputy Governor Buries Brother At Mbaukwu

Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA is still united under the leadership of its National Chairman, Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa as well as his executives.

Governor Soludo stated this at the funeral service of the Late Sir Nnamdi Ibezim at Saint Lawrence Anglican Church Mbaukwu in Awka South Local Government Area.

The deceased who is the brother to the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim and the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim died at the age of sixty-five.

According to the Governor, APGA will continue to wax stronger under the leadership of Barrister Ezeokenwa.

On the issue of local government autonomy, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to conducting local government election.

Governor Soludo commended the Ibezim family for adhering to the State burial law which he noted will encourage Ndi Anambra to always give the people befitting living as against the norm of celebrating and giving people befitting burial.

Earlier in a Sermon, the Bishop on the Lake, Right Reverend Chijioke Otti stressed that there is time for everything on earth, including time to be born and time to die, encouraging the family to take heart and bear the loss with fortitude.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the family, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim and Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim appreciated those that supported them in their moment of grief, expressing optimism that the good legacies of the deceased will be emulated and sustained.

In attendance were members of the State Executive Council including the Secretary to the State government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Traditional Rulers, among others.
