Frasier, But Whole Cast

Frasier reboot star Kelsey Grammer teases the nostalgia from the original series as Season 2 approaches. The lead actor and producer suggests one episode from the upcoming season will see some familiar faces from the past appear.

Speaking with Movie Web, Grammer plugged the "super nostalgic" Season 2 episode which will have memories flooding back to Frasier's original run. Though Grammer couldn't divulge details, he insists it will be a memorable episode. "We have a big show [in season 2] that's going super nostalgic. And I'm not really able to talk too much about that until it comes out, but it's a wonderful show. And you see some people who you used to know that you're sort of like, 'Oh my God, there they are!' And that happens in this one show, particularly. It's quite lovely," he said.

Though he admitted bringing back OG characters can create "tricky" behind-the-scenes moments, Grammer believes infusing nostalgia adds more intrigue, saying there is a sense of, if the nostalgia is earned by having a contemporary value, then that's okay." Grammer also expressed excitement about the guest features on Season 2 of the Frasier revival, including his daughter Greer Grammer, who plays Roz Doyle's (Peri Gilpin) grown-up daughter Alice. "My daughter is going to be on the show, which is kind of fun, as Roz's daughter," he said. Grammer suggested the guest cameos would be worth the wait, saying, "I can't divulge all of them, but so far so good... The shows are really, really taking off."

The Frasier Reboot Ramps Up Production on Season 2

As Season 2 of the Frasier reboot ramps up production at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, Grammer has returned several original characters to the show, recreating memories of his titular character's days in Seattle. Frasier Crane's old KACL buddies will join him in Season 2 as Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert will reprise their roles as Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe and Gil Chesterton. These moves follow Gilpin's return as Roz in a recurring role, having appeared as a guest in the Season 1 finale.
