Man is charged with preventing lawful burial and three with burglary

A man has been accused of preventing lawful burial of a body and fraud while three others have been charged with burglary after a woman was found dead in a property in Leicester.

The body was found in a property on Radiant Road, Thurncourt, on Thursday morning, according to Leicestershire Police.

Carl Sanders, 48, of Flamborough Road, Leicester, has been charged with preventing the lawful burial of a body, burglary and three counts of fraud by false misrepresentation.

Richard Chapman, 39, and Christopher Chapman, 35, both of no fixed address, have each been charged with burglary.

All three men have been remanded into custody and will appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Two men, aged 48 and 39, who were arrested have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A post-mortem examination has been completed and further tests will be carried out.

A police spokesperson said: 'Officers are continuing their enquiries following the body of a woman found in a bungalow in Thurncourt.

'Shortly after 6am Thursday, police were called to an address in Radiant Road, Thurncourt, following a call of concern for a woman.

'Officers attended and found the body of a woman inside a bungalow.

'As part of the investigation, five men - aged 35, 39, 39, 48 and 48 - have been arrested and remain in custody.

'Enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman's death are continuing and officers remain in the area.

'Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 91 of 4 July.'
