A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Asiwaju Mashood Shittu has called on the leadership of the various security agencies to arrest some expelled members of the party.

According to Shittu, those who should be arrested for engaging in acts capable of breaching the peace include a former Chairman of the party, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, a former National Public Secretary, Mr. Agbo Major.

These are contained in a statement Shittu signed on Monday made available to newsmen.

In the statement, Shittu maintained that the affected former members have been parading themselves as leaders of the party despite their expulsion from the NNPP by the National Working Committee and other body of the party for various offences.

Shittu acted that their expulsion from the party came after series of court judgements that affirms the leadership of the party under Dr. Ajuji Ahmed and now parading themselves as imposters.

“I am appealing to the Inspector General of Police, Director of security services as well as the leadership of the other security agencies to act swiftly by arresting these expelled former members of the party.

“The arrest should be made to guarantee the integrity of the NNPP as a corporate entity made up of credible and decent personalities,” he said.

The NNPP chieftain accused the affected expelled members of parading themselves as members and leaders of the party, which is seriously contemptuous as the various courts affirming the leadership of Dr. Ajuji Ahmed.

According to Shittu, “These expelled members are going about parading themselves as leaders of the party. They have been sending letters using the letter headed papers and stamp of the party to organisations and entities.

“These is a clear breach of the law and a clear attempt to ridicule the judiciary by their actions and we are calling on the security agents to arrest them in the interest of peace.”

He said the intent of their actions is to undermine the national leader Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and NNPP.

Shittu said like-minds politicians are trooping into the party because of the leadership quality of Sen. Kwankwaso who is known as a man of integrity
