Tampico has implemented the new Information Technology service “Puerto Inteligente Seguro” (PIS), featuring a customs clearance module that officials and port community members can access via mobile devices. This digital platform ensures certainty in tax collection and enhances security in maritime customs.

PIS offers several detailed manuals to guide users through essential processes. The User Agreement application and signature manual provide a comprehensive overview of the procedure, ensuring effective implementation and compliance. Additionally, the Quick Guide facilitates access to the PIS platform, while the Appointment Module manual details the step-by-step process. 

For personnel management, the platform includes a specific manual for employee registration through the Personnel Module. Manuals on vehicle and transport permits and registrations clearly outline the requirements for operating within the port precinct, effectively managing validation processes with entities such as Asipona, Customs, and Immigration.

"The port of Tampico has been a pioneer in implementing this intelligent system, showcasing efficiency and security in our customs processes," said a spokesperson from Asipona Tampico. "This advance not only facilitates the port's operational management, but also sets a precedent for the implementation of similar technologies in other national ports."

Asipona's most recent data reflects continued annual growth for the port of Tampico this year, with more than 2 million tons mobilized and a 5% increase over the previous year.
