LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set strict performance indicators for police officers to monitor and improve their performance across the province.

During a meeting with police officers from various districts, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of addressing public complaints, ensuring timely registration of FIRs, conducting search operations, and eliminating no-go areas.

Police personnel will be awarded marks for their exemplary performance in these areas, while those failing to meet expectations will face deductions. The performance indicators aim to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that there would be zero tolerance for any black sheep, gangs, and no-go zones within the province. She highlighted the need for a robust law enforcement system to deter criminal activities and ensure accountability.

The Chief Minister also underscored the negative impact of political interference in the police department and vowed to put an end to it. She insisted that a strong and independent police force is essential for maintaining law and order and protecting the rights of citizens.

Additionally, police officers will receive extra marks for implementing innovative and exemplary measures in their duties. This initiative is part of the Punjab government’s efforts to improve police performance and control crime effectively across the province.
