To the surprise of many, Mark Grayson doesn't get his blue suit in Invincible season 2 despite the obvious tease, and here's why the series chose to make this subversive decision. Invincible is a show known for being incredibly faithful to the comics, with it rarely altering what already exists as part of the source material and mostly adding on to it. It was highly expected that Mark Grayson would finally obtain his iconic blue suit from the Invincible comics is season 2, but this didn't end up happening in the finale, but it will probably be happening soon.

Invincible season 2, part 2 is finally here, with the highly anticipated continuation of Amazon Prime Video's critically acclaimed animated adaptation of the beloved superhero comic series now released in full on the streaming service. Invincible season 2, part 2 picks up right where Invincible season 2, part 1 ended, with Mark Grayson returning to Earth after reuniting with his father on Thraxa. Invincible season 2, episode 8 wrapped up the show's exciting second season, and while many comic storylines were included in season 2, the blue suit arc was one notable exception.

Invincible Season 2 Heavily Teased Mark Grayson's Blue Suit

The Title Card Built Up To It

Mark Grayson's blue suit is one of the most important aspects of the Invincible comics, and it was heavily teased that the suit would be making its television debut in Invincible season 2. In the comics, Mark Grayson decides to update his suit several times, but his switch to a black and blue color scheme is his most drastic deviation from the main yellow suit. Upon bringing Oliver to Art and commissioning a Kid Omni-Man suit, Mark decides to ask for a new version of his suit as well, leading Art to create the blue and black suit.

Invincible Season 3: Cast, Story, & Everything We Know

The Amazon Prime Video series Invincible shined during its first two seasons, and here's everything we know about the upcoming season 3.

Invincible season 2's title card starts out red and black in episode 1, with it slowly cracking and revealing a black and blue version of the logo under it. Many fans of Invincible took this black and blue title card to be a tease of the black and blue suit, as the former yellow and blue logo matched Mark's original Invincible suit. Although the fully black and blue logo does appear in Invincible season 2, episode 8, the finale didn't end with Mark getting the suit, which was a shocking choice considering how heavily it was teased.

Mark Didn't Get His Blue Suit In Season 2 (But He Should In Season 3)

The Show is Still Behind The Comics

Sadly, Mark Grayson didn't get his blue suit in Invincible season 2, with him sticking with the yellow and blue suit through the end of the season. This is because Invincible season 2 ends right after Mark fights Angstrom Levy for the second time, with him not being in his black and blue suit yet at this point in the comics. Although the title card seemed to imply that Mark's blue suit was coming at the end of the season, Amazon Prime Video's version of Invincible hasn't progressed to this point yet.

However, it seems incredibly likely that Mark will be getting his black and blue suit in Invincible season 3. Invincible can't hold off transforming Oliver Grayson into Kid Omni-Man for much longer, meaning that Mark's black and blue suit is right around the corner as well. Mark will probably be seen wearing the black and blue suit for most of Invincible season 3, with this being one of the most exciting potential storylines in the upcoming batch of episodes.

Invincible's Blue Suit Sets Up A Dark Future For Mark Grayson

His Morals Will Start To Change

Invincible's blue suit arc is more than just an aesthetic change, as the change of wardrobe sets up an incredibly dark future for Mark Grayson. In the comics, the blue suit is reflective of a dark point in Mark Grayson's life, with him becoming overwhelmed by his responsibilities and questioning those in power over him. Mark's blue suit is present throughout Mark's falling out with the GDA, although it later is featured when the character's morals begin to shift.
