Celtic are evaluating Cliftonville duo Ryan Corrigan and Shay Reid on trial this summer to bolster the club’s youth and B-team ranks.

It had already been reported last month that youth striker Reid was to be given an opportunity at the Scottish champions after a prolific campaign at U16 and U18 level, where he netted 36 goals in total.

Several other clubs including Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian are also tracking his progress, having represented Northern Ireland at the U16 age group.

Corrigan, 17 and also a Northern Ireland youth international, will join Reid on a week-long trial with the Bhoys youth sides having already made senior appearances for Cliftonville despite his young age.

Also a striker, the teenager has made five appearances for his club and even scored in Friday’s NIFL Charity Shield against Larne. He recently signed his first professional contract with the club. The two trials were announced by the club academy’s social media account on Sunday.
