FCT: 'I need only President Tinubu's permission on projects' - Wike tackles naysayers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has said he only needs the permission of President Bola Tinubu to embark on projects.

He made this known during the flag-off of Kwaita-Yebu Road in Kwali Area Council expected to cost N7 billion.

This comment follows his recent stand-off with the FCT Senator, Ireti Kingibe.

Recall, that Kingibe had repeatedly accused Wike of sidelining her despite her role as the senator representing the FCT. She particularly claimed that her constituency was being marginalized, noting the lack of clean water for the residents of Abuja.

However, speaking during the flag-off, Wike said: “For those who are ignorant and don’t know what to say, that we are only doing roads, please let the people know that we are doing something.

“I don’t need to seek permission from anybody to tell him what projects I will embark upon.

“It is only the person who appointed me that I can seek such from and that is the President. So nobody can go on air and say they are not doing schools, I don’t need to come and inform you.”
