Indian 2 is set to release on July 12, but actor Kamal Haasan is more excited about the film's third iteration.
As Indian 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 12, Kamal Haasan has turned up the heat by making a bold statement about Indian 3, claiming he prefers the third part over the second. Kamal Haasan, currently on a nationwide tour to promote Indian 2, has confirmed that he agreed to do Indian 2 only because he loved Indian 3.
“Truth be told, the only reason why I accepted to do the second part is because of the third part only. I am a big fan of the third part. Usually, people say that they like the first half or second half of the film better than the first half. My second half is Indian 3. I have been praising the film by myself and I am only tensed that there’s a six-month wait for it,” Haasan shared.
Directed once again by Shankar, Indian 2 boasts an impressive star-studded cast. The ensemble includes Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore, and Deepa Shankar, among others. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for both the parts of the film.
Makers have already wrapped up the shoot of both the parts. Speaking at the audio launch of Indian 2, Shankar revealed that he made a third part because one part wasn’t doing justice to the soul of his content.
Indian 2 follows the aftermath of Indian (1996), a vigilante action drama with Kamal Haasan in dual roles as a father and son. Senapathy, Haasan’s character, is a former freedom fighter determined to eradicate corruption in modern society by hunting down corrupt officers. When his son is revealed as a corrupt inspector, Senapathy doesn’t spare him either.
