Sanwo-Olu takes action against illegal street traders, hawkers in Lagos

The Lagos state government has launched a zero-tolerance enforcement action against illegal street traders, hawkers, and cart pushers in the Ajiran community along the Lekki- Epe Expressway.

This was made known in a post signed by the managing director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin on Friday, 5th of July, 2024.

The exercise, which began on Thursday, 4th of July, 2024, is being carried out by the Monitoring and Compliance team of the LAWMA in collaboration with the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), led by Mr. Jimmy Odukoya and Major Cole.

He said:

“Sights and sounds from the ongoing #ZeroToleranceLagos enforcement action against Illegal street traders, hawkers, and cart pushers at Ajiran community along Lekki-Epe Expressway.

“These recalcitrant traders were dislodged yesterday 4th July 2024 by men and women of the Monitoring and Compliance of #Lawma_gov working with #LAGESCOfficial led by Mr. Jimmy Odukoya and Major Cole.

“This exercise will continue until we put a final stop to the hitherto free-for-all illegal dumping of waste along the median and setbacks by those who do not want Lagos to be great.

“The newly rehabilitated, rigid pavement reconstruction of Lekki-Epe Expressway is a significant investment in infrastructure that must be protected at all costs.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
