Inside IGP Byakagaba’s First Major Police Reshuffle

Abas Byakagaba the newly appointed Inspector General of Police has made his first changes in the police command replacing long serving popular Spokesman, Fred Enanga with Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kituuma Rusoke.

Rusoke once commanded the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) law enforcement officers.

 Enanga was first appointed as spokesperson in 2014 to replace Judith Nabakooba (now Lands Minister ) by Gen Kale Kayihura. He was later replaced by Emilian Kayima as police spokesperson.

In 2019, John Martins Okoth Ochola (now retired ) reappointed Enanga as police spokesperson and he has served for five years in that role.

Enanga will now serve as the Deputy Director Interpol.

  3. Richard Echega has been appointed new Kampala Metropolitan Police commander.

  6. SSP Nanoka RPC KMP North
  7. Ziwede – CP Curiculum
  8. SCP Steven Tanui who has been KMP Commander is now Deputy Director Fire
  9. Cp Namuwoza CP Fire
  10. SPC Nanding is now commandant Professional Standards Unit (PSU)
  11. CP Kibwika is now HRM
  12. Oil and Gas – Nyabongo
  13. ACp Mastura- TOURISM
  14. Muheirwe -Barracks.
